Choosing Between Windows and Mac OS
A debate that will probably never end, is whether Windows OS or Mac OS is the best. People will always choose what they like, and both will be chosen by someone, because they have important benefits. In many ways, it depends on how you’re going to be using your computer, as Windows is better for some applications, and Mac for others. Each OS has its advantages, and that is what we will look at.
The primary advantage of Windows based computers, for most people, is price. Windows computers, on the whole, are much more affordable than Mac computers. Whether you get a desktop or a laptop, you can save several hundred dollars by choosing a PC rather than a Mac. This means that if you don’t have much experience with computers and only want a PC for basic purposes, such as surfing the web, exchanging emails and watching videos, it probably makes more sense to buy a Windows based PC. There are still reasons that you may like Mac a lot better like design or how easy it is to use, but it definitely will cost more money. When all you want is a PC that is easy to afford, however, Windows OS computers are definitely the best way to go. Many useful software programs come already installed on any new Mac computer you purchase. An example of this, is iLife, which comes with your computer, and it includes iPhoto and iDVD, as well as iWeb and iMovie. Having the ability to edit your videos, photos and audio files, along with being able to organize and share them, is what you get with these programs. When it comes to software, Windows doesn’t really give you that much. You might think you are getting a lot of software, but many of these are just free trials, so you better read the fine print. A lot of these programs have to be paid for, after a few months, in order to keep using them. For PCs that don’t cost a lot, Chrome Hearts Belts this is particularly true. So this is something to consider when you compare the price of a Mac to a PC.
If you sit at a computer a lot, you might want one that you like its design and appearance. For the people who are concerned about the looks of their computer, Mac came out the winner. When designing their products, Apple put a lot of effort into having ones that were high functioning along with being ergonomic and attractive. If you were wondering why most other brands were less expensive than Apple products, this could be the reason. With a little effort, you can find what appeals to you in nicely designed, Windows-based computers. It is nice to have a computer that looks really good, but there are other things that are way more important.
There are a lot of reasons that you may prefer Windows or Mac OS. While this article has explored some of the major benefits of both, when it comes right down to it, you need to make your own decisions based on your requirements, budget and preferences. It all depends upon how you want to use your computer, how much you can afford to pay and which interface and design feels better when you use it–these things are what will determine whether you wind up liking Windows or Macs better.
